Sannidhya Mate @ 2021

Hello Reader’s

I am Sannidhya Mate pursuing my B.Tech from VIT Chennai. I am currently in 6th semester on the cusp of entering into my final year.

My first meeting with Maheswari Mam was during 1st semester as she was my proctor.

So, I remember when our first semester started, we were in Online mode. So, she had taken a G-meet to get in touch with all her proctees. It was an introduction session and basic overview of how our next 4 years will go. She also assured us of any help we needed during these 4 years.

Who knew that, that one assurance would be a bright ray of hope for me going forward.

Things were going average for me as far as my academics were concerned considering I had my own share of backlogs.

Then in my 3rd semester I had a few serious health issues due to which I had to go back home for 2 months and I had to skip my semester 3 exams.

Maheswari Mam was on leave the day I was going to leave for home but she talked to my parents over video call and understanding my situation approved my leave wishing me good health.

Those 2 months at home was the toughest phase for me. Apart from my health, what was bothering me was how will I bring my academics back on track.

The only time I cried in that phase was just because I could not imagine my way back to sort my academics. But Maheswari Mam always motivated me that everything would be fine very soon and she always assured that do the best for myself and my academics.

We were in regular contact with her during that time and she tried her best to help me in all possible ways.

Finally, after my health started improving, I came back to college with a “New Hope” and “Motivation” knowing that I am backed by my parents and my proctor who was not just a proctor but more of a guardian.

Things started getting back on track. I still remember she had to struggle so much with the academic department at college just to make me eligible to write my re-exam. Else I would have had to repeat the whole semester again. But because of her and my HOD mam’s efforts I was allowed to write the re-exam. I always used to worry about my academics but she always told me to give the highest priority to my health as academics is something which can be managed much better with a healthy mind and body.

During our semester break Maheswari Mam left VIT and joined at Pune Symbiosis. It came as a surprise as her name wasn’t there on VTOP proctor section. But I wish her much more success in her future endeavours.

She has had an immense contribution in what is the most important phase of a student’s life. Thank You so much Mam 😊🙏!!

The potential you saw and recognised in me became my strength to achieve what I desire. The day I exit from this college be it being placed in any company or at any given amount of package, aiming for something even higher, I will always remember your contribution for making me what I am today. A big heartfelt Thank You!!!

And now on a personal note for all the readers and juniors out there… Would like to share few things with you based on my experiences. There will be times when life will throw struggles at you and you will feel nothing is going right. In such cases many will be upset and demotivated. Even I had similar thinking. But during that struggle of my life the one thing I learnt was that when life throws struggles at you, it’s making you stronger and more mature.

I never felt that I was matured until that time. But during that phase for the first time, I felt the feeling of being mature and grown. I was thinking more of my family than myself. I was a completely different person than what I was a month or two before that.

My perspective towards life was changed and I realised that instead of being upset about why this happened to me I thank life everyday for the tough phase which gave birth to a new ME. And I truly admire my present version. So, whenever you find yourself in a tricky phase just stay calm and never stop believing.

It’s all planned to build you into a strong person and most importantly into a good human being. I always sport a smile on my face. Smile of Satisfaction… Smile of Thankfulness towards what life has taught me.

A Big Thank You to my Parents, Friends and someone who is no less than a guardian, Maheswari Mam!!!
